The Traveller Justice Initiative (TJI), established by SSGT in 2014, supports systemic change for Travellers in the justice system. With flexible, independent funding, SSGT enabled TJI to innovate, co-design with communities, and build sustainable, impactful initiatives. This approach centred Travellers as leaders and experts, creating space for risk-taking and long-term change. Since 2024, TJI is state-funded, but its roots in bold philanthropy remain vital.
