National Philanthropy Policy

Ireland's First National Philanthropy Policy
Ireland’s first National Philanthropy Policy (2024–2028), launched formally in December 2023, sets out a framework to support and strengthen philanthropy in Ireland.
Philanthropy Ireland has advocated for a National Philanthropy Policy for many years and linked closely with the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht in its creation, through extensive research and consultative process. We also represent the sector in policy discussions, contribute to policy development, participate in implementation structures, and bring insights from across our membership.
What the Philanthropy Policy Focuses On
The Policy outlines five key objectives designed to support the philanthropy community. Philanthropy Ireland is represented across all associated working groups, which bring together sector stakeholders to drive implementation, while an overarching Implementation and Monitoring Group reports on progress.
