Philanthropy Ireland has been working with the Department of Rural and Community Development in drafting The National Draft Policy on Philanthropy. We were delighted to hear the Department received over 60 submissions, indicating substantial interest and engagement from our own membership, many of which have been made public over the last few weeks.
The Policy is set to be launched by year end 2023 and Philanthropy Ireland is fully committed to maintaining momentum and actively supporting advancing to implementation. The Policy is of significant importance to our members and the wider philanthropy community of stakeholders.
What’s Next for The Policy on Philanthropy?
Sustain momentum to maximise goodwill and commitment.
Foster stakeholder collaboration for amplified impact through integrated efforts.
Identify, source, and commit resources (financial and non-financial) to drive actions.
Draw from existing knowledge and international experiences for evidence-based practices and learning.
Philanthropy Ireland will continue to support meaningful change, foster strong collaborations, and encourage a strong culture of philanthropy and social responsibility. This policy proposal is the first national policy to address a strategic approach to the challenges and opportunities in the philanthropic landscape in Ireland.
