The RDS Foundation

The RDS Foundation

For almost 290 years the RDS has responded to the needs and priorities of Ireland, addressing gaps in the development of our culture and economy and have helped shape the country. The RDS is focused on a long-term vision for Ireland and five key areas underpin our work: agriculture, the arts, enterprise, equestrianism and science. The RDS harnesses people’s energy and ideas, we identify the needs within each area and bring momentum and scale to fulfil those needs. Through this, we help develop and nurture long-lasting positive impact in Irish society.

Their Impact

In 2024 we hosted the Finding Common Ground Festival. The 2-day event looked at issues around Biodiversity and Sustainability through an evidence based (and practical application) lens across our key programme areas; Agriculture, Arts, Equestrian, Enterprise and Science & Technology, with a view to creating increased awareness, education and identification of solutions to act now. This festival sought to address one of the key goals in our strategy; to find a common ground that allows us to harness the benefits of Irish natural resources and circular bio-economy (including agriculture and forestry) while also leaving the world in a better state than we found it.
