Irish Hospice Foundation provides Scholarships in End-of-Life and Bereavement Care which are open to multiple disciplines (nursing, medicine, allied health professionals and others). The impact is to support those working in acute, nursing home and community health sectors, including counsellors/therapists in private practice, as well as applicants from general voluntary community/sectors.

From one of our successful applicants; "As a busy mother of three small children, I was able to concentrate on my studies, as due to this support, I didn’t need to take on additional working hours in order to pay my fees".

The wider impact is to support those facing end-of-life and bereavement as we upskill front-line workers in the community.

We also provide grants to families coming to terms with child loss. The impact of these is felt by around 100 parents a year who need support to cover the financial realities of the death of a child - funeral bills, time off work, therapeutic supports etc.
