Benefact Trust
Benefact Trust exists to make a positive difference to people's lives by funding, guiding and celebrating the work of churches and Christian charities; empowering the most vulnerable and giving people, communities and places a renewed opportunity to flourish. They are working to change lives and communities for the long-term, offering grants aiming to supporting the repair and improvement of places of Christian worship; but also, to have a positive impact on the wider community, tackling social issues from homelessness and poverty to climate change and cultural cohesion.
Their Impact
An example of how Benefact Trust provides support can be seen in the Lighthouse Project at St Michael’s Church in Byker, which received a £100,000 grant to help launch a new youth and community hub opening mid 2025. The facility serves around 1,500 young people and families annually, offering youth clubs, wellbeing programmes, and creative spaces. Supported by the Youth Investment Fund and other trusts, the project reflects strong collaboration between local organisations, the church, and the Benefact Group.
