Applegreen Charitable Fund
The focus of Applegreen's Charitable Fund is- Supporting Ireland's Children.
The charitable fund was set up in 2009 and consists of employees from all areas of the business. The charitable fund is designed to support the communities in which Applegreen operates and is very much embedded into the Applegreen culture, and employee engagement is a huge part of the Applegreen ethos. Throughout the year, employees at head office and at stores organise events to raise awareness for our charity partner through volunteering and fundraising activities, including static cycles, fun runs, hikes and marathons.
Their Impact
The charitable fund currently has a three-year partnership with Barretstown, becoming one of the largest annual contributors to the children’s charity. This significant partnership will see Applegreen commit to raising €1 million for the charity from 2023 – 2025.
The charitable fund will support Barretstown’s world famous onsite residential camp programmes for children and their families affected by serious illnesses, and will result in supporting 3,000 priceless days of therapeutic programmes for a seriously ill child and their families from across Ireland. Placing families at the heart of the partnership, Applegreen will become title sponsor for a week long Applegreen Summer Camp in July, as well as supporting the magical Barretstown Winter Wonderland experience in November.
