5Ten Trust
The 5 Ten Trust is dedicated to supporting children in the North West of Ireland in reaching their full potential in whatever path they choose. Our main aim is to break barriers and help build futures. We provide financial support in the form of grants to children experiencing economic or social hardship in order for them to fulfill their ambitions.
We also work with local secondary schools and develop strong relationships enabling us to create carefully targeted grant making activities for individuals and groups. We support projects and programs that are impactful in reversing social damage caused by educational disadvantage, poverty, or exclusion experienced by children and young adults.
We have developed programs with educators at both primary and secondary level to support employability and resilience skills for all.
We also enable and encourage a “pay it forward” principle among all participants.
Their Impact
We have been active for 3 years and in that time we have developed annual support programes with three secondary schools to help them run courses that they otherwise would not be able to due to financial constraints. All of these courses are designed to help build resilience in students and get them ready for whatever path they choose after they complete their secondary education. We also offer 4 annual bursaries to students going to the next level of their education, these bursaries last for up to 4 years, we currently have 10 active and will announce an additional 4 in September.
We have also worked with a number of primary schools to develop resilience skills through a variety of methods and will continue to grow this in 2024/25.
