Members & Membership
Philanthropy Ireland represents independent, philanthropic organisations in Ireland. We aim to increase the effectiveness of philanthropy in Ireland by serving as the representative voice of philanthropic organisations. To this end, we provide networking opportunities, training and information services. A list of our members can be found on this Web site.
Those interested in joining Philanthropy Ireland’s network of independent philanthropic organisations may consider either a full or an associate membership.
Please Note: Organisations engaged in both fundraising and grant-making are welcome to join Philanthropy Ireland but may not use their membership or Philanthropy Ireland meetings to seek grants or raise funds.
Full Membership
Full membership is open to independent philanthropic organisations (including corporate foundations) that have grantmaking or other forms of social investment for charitable purposes as their primary activity. Subscription fees for full membership are set on a sliding scale based on the amount of funds disbursed by the organisation each year. Organisations headquartered outside the country need only consider funds disbursed within the Republic of Ireland. Organisations that meet the criteria for full membership, but do not carry out grant-making or social investment activities in the Republic of Ireland, may apply for full membership and pay only a minimum subscription fee.
Associate Membership
The following may apply for an associate membership to Philanthropy Ireland:
Companies that have significant charitable giving programmes but have not established a separate trust or foundation;
Individual philanthropists who have not set up an independent trust or foundation;
Individuals or companies providing legal, financial or other services to those who may be interested in engaging in philanthropy.
Please contact us for details on fees for an associate membership.
