There is an exciting new scholarship offering now available to Irish students. The Magnitude Foundation will award its first scholarship this September to a student  beginning their undergraduate degree at Trinity College Dublin or University College Dublin in 2015.

Applications open from 7th July – 7th August 2015.

The scholarship consists of an award worth up to €7,000 per year to be awarded annually for the whole duration of study, up to a maximum of four years. This includes personalised mentoring and leadership development training. The successful applicant will also be expected to contribute some portion of their time to voluntary service in their chosen field during their degree.

The Magnitude Foundation supports young people in financial need who:

  • have strong academic abilities,
  • have potential to become leaders in their chosen field and
  • aspire to use their education and the training we provide them with to make real contributions to humankind during their lifetime in their chosen field.

In order to apply, a student must:

  • be under 21 years of age
  • have achieved, or expect to achieve, a minimum of 450 Leaving Certificate points, a Distinction in a FETAC Level 5 award or a Distinction in a higher education access/foundation course
  • have applied to Trinity College Dublin or University College Dublin for a first year undergraduate degree beginning September 2015
  • have met, or expect to meet, the socio-economic criteria for the Higher Education Access Route (HEAR) or similar criteria applied to higher education access/foundation courses that qualify for HEAR – for more information please visit
  • be passionate about his or her chosen field
  • have demonstrated voluntary service in one shape or form in their lives
  • aspire to using their education and the training we provide them with to deliver real benefits to humankind in their chosen filed
  • be available to attend an interview in Dublin on Friday 21st August 2015 (Note: any reasonable travel expenses required within the Republic of Ireland will be pre-agreed and covered by the Foundation)
