The Dormant Accounts Fund is a scheme for the disbursement of unclaimed funds from accounts in credit institutions in Ireland. The fund is under the statutory function of the Minister of the Environment, Community and Local Government with effect from the 1st January 2013.

The Dormant Accounts Action Plan 2014 has been adopted by the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government and applications are now sought from eligible organisations under 8 Measures:

  1. Social Enterprise – €1,000,000
  2. Youth Employment – €500,000
  3. Support for Home Carers – €970,000
  4. Substance Misuse & Prevention – €970,000
  5. Local Area Co-ordination (Disability Services) – €480,000
  6. Achieving HIQA Standards for Residential Centres for People with Disabilities – €480,000
  7. Support for Young People with Disabilities, including Autism – €335,000
  8. Non-Centre Based Respite Services – €335,000

Every measure has a ‘fact sheet’ that outlines the eligible actions and costs that may be considered, who is eligible to apply and the minimum and maximum grants available.

Application Process
Applications under DAF can only be made via an online application form which will be available to access from Wednesday 1st July 2015.

The closing date for completion of the online application form is 12 noon on Wednesday 22nd July 2015.
