Building on research initiated by the St. Stephen’s Green Trust, Philanthropy Ireland commissioned Brian Harvey, Social Researcher, to undertake research on needs in areas of social justice. The work was undertaken in early 2014 with a draft report presented in early March.

Intended as a scoping report it provides top-line information on particular areas of need in the social justice sphere. The report examined specific concerns including human rights, civil liberties and advocacy; poverty and community development; older and younger people; equality, disability and racial justice; homelessness and mental health; and education. Intended as an advisory piece the report makes recommendations which might support and inform future funding in the sector.

Philanthropy Ireland intend to launch the report in early June, a date yet to be confirmed. If you would like any further details or would like to be placed on a contact list for full details please contact
